collectives is a writing based, character development driven community. we'd love to build a community where you not only care about your character but other people's characters as well beyond romantic storylines. if you're looking for just an sl - please go elsewhere. members who do not make an effort to make friends, welcome new people or participate in activities outside of their sls will be removed. we encourage creative updates such as narratives or creative styles. be nice! we do not welcome gatekeeping how other people decide on how to write their characters because we assume you want to be able to write yours without other people's input. lastly, we are fp based! that means customs over wire. while wire isn't banned we will remove people flat out who contribute nothing to activities, the fp or the community in general. if you only have time for wire there are many places you can go but this isn't one of them.

joining requires an out of character journal, an in character contact post and an out of character contact post. both must be backdated. your out of character contact post must contain a character bio - we know, that seems daunting. we are really only asking for the basics so you shouldn't have to write more than 100 - 500 words. you can keep it brief we just want to know that you have a general idea of your character's background. we want to know that you have ideas about how your character is being adapted. trust - we aren't picky we just want to know you have thought about it. your ooc post needs a wiki or a wiki fandom link to the character you're joining as, character age/birthday, occupation, hometown and where they live. anything else you want to add is up to you. at the moment we do not require examples but we do suggest you be realize we will require you to occasionally write a narrative and contribute to written activities in the community.

intros are 100% a pain, but a necessary pain. you must post something within 48 hours of being added to the main community. please be mindful that discussion about tv/movies won't be so prevalent here for obvious reasons. hard to talk abotu the latest marvel movie with peter parker walking around. try to be creative about what you intro with! simply asking someone's favorite pizza topping won't get the best or most responses. on the other end, when you are replying to intros/posts, put some thought in and make sure it's showing your character's personality somehow. basically we are asking that you avoid one wording people.

updates should make for a diverse fp. we will require an actual update, and one thing interactive. we want to see some narratives and creativity beyond instagram/social media posts. yes those are welcome but will only count as your interactive update for the month. as for your update-updates - we won't be too crazy about these. we know people are busy and writing or coding something nice isn't always possible. we will not have a word count requirement for updates. as long as there is effort, you need not worry. we will have narrative challenges that can range from writing something without going over 100 words or writing something with a theme. you can post excerpts from scenes you've written with other people with their permission as well. keep in mind you'll have 30/31 days to do this and we don't think it's an unreasonable request.

acitivities can be mod or member run here. as mods we won't have time to do too much outside of challenges and the occasional plot posts so anyone who wants to volunteer to help mod the community activities and events can let us know in the member drop box. we hope to run events for the characters - aka villains attacking, magical experiments that affect everyone, and so on! we are open to discussing group scenes if we want to go beyond plot posts.
